From what I understand, actual LSD is extremely hard to produce, and is rather hard to find these days. It sounds like you're already aware of this, but just to emphasize, most of the stuff sold as "LSD" or "acid" is probably going to be a research chemical of some kind. Even the stuff I took a few weeks ago probably was, even though it matched all the symptoms of LSD and not NBome or some other crazy shit.
Short of doing a chemistry test I don't think there's going to be any truly safe way to test LSD out.
If I were you, I'd recommend just buying some 4-AcO-DMT fumarate off the internet. I did it a few times back in '14 with biochemdistribution.co which now appears to be dead and they shipped it directly to my mailbox 10 days later very professionally packaged.

Every vaper friend or family member I know so far is an ex-smoker trying to quit actual cigarettes so they tried vape juice or e-cigs rather than nicotine gum/patches and ended up hooked on that instead. Pot is ok to me as long as you're not a DUDE WEED LMAO type since I occasionally do that myself, and I suppose I'd be alright with vaping/e-cigs since they smell nice but regular tobacco use would probably be a turn-off for me.

Everyone I know who smoked tobacco (and/or weed) before picking up vaping replaced it with vaping for a while, and now just went back to doing BOTH. All who just picked up vaping (and/or weed pens) only do that, and never started smoking.
So my conclusion is that vaping isn't a "gateway drug" to smoking anything else, but it's also totally useless as a "stop smoking" strategy.
