People sometimes say that, but it's kind of bs. Society holds male beauty to a lower standard, mostly because of male insecurity. As women make more money, we'll probably continue to see more female attraction to "prettier" and younger males. We're at a sort of aesthetic crossroads between "men should stay young-looking and take care of their bodies" and "shoving a bunch of shit in your face is great just as long as you compensate by making yourself yuge and who cares what your face looks like??"

Previously, "Twink", and "Bear" were some of the popular looks for gays, but there are many others. People make new looks, and some of them look great and spread, some look good for certain people, and some aren't popular, but the person "owns it" with confidence.
As far as "ottermode", there's quite a gap between twink and bear. It seems like a new category has popped up to bridge the gap.
No matter what body type you want, exercise helps, and is probably necessary for health. Cardio and yoga are good for any type. Swimmers and runners have svelte, but muscular bodies. Lifting weights is good for bulking up, but I wouldn't go to crazy unless ya wanna get big. Diet is important. Try to eat good foods.
Basically, I advocate throwing out the categories, and when you see someone who is hot to you, but close to your body type, ask em what they do. Figure out a plan and be consistent. Keep trying exercises until you find one you like. A lot of fitness information is bunk, and ya gotta do some trial and error. The general idea is to spend time moving your body. It's really fun to hold a fantasy ideal and shape your body into it over time. Then reward yourself with cute clothes to put on it.

For those who are getting close to the mid-20s: if you don't have any body hair, no beard and you don't have a thick strong body, then congratulations because there is a *chance* that you have won the cuteboy genetic lottery. You'll *probably* stay like that during all your adult life. I can attest to that; when I started dating my boyfriend, he was just a year older than I am today (I'm 23) and he already had a full beard, lots of body hair and a strong body (<3). As for me, people are always surprised when they find out that not only I'm not a teenager, but also that I haven't been a teenager for a while!
Of course it's all personal; some people are still in puberty well into their late 20s in some cases. But in the end, if you're a cutie now, you'll probably be one in 10 or even 20 years from now if you take proper care of yourself, with a proper diet, exercise and all that you already know.
To be sincere I'm more worried about how healthy I'll be when I reach the ripe age of 90 rather than whether in 15 years I'll still be able to enter a High School class and easily pass as a regular student. Our bodies will decay but our spirit never will, and I don't believe that just because you're past a certain age you should abandon who you are for something as shallow as appearance.
Besides, the acceptance of homosexuals in Western society, specifically the acceptance of males who are perceived as effeminate (which is very different from slicing off your dick) is very, very recent - and in some places of the world, we'd still get thrown from the highest building of the village for being ourselves. So we cannot be sure of how us cute boys will age. I think we'll be just fine in 40 or 50 years.
