The exact same story happened to me except im the BF who wants to be shared. Ive had this desire every since i started dating my first gf. for some reason I noticed I gained the desire/curiosity to be with other girl only when i was in a relationship. Then when each one ended, I lost the desire. Then I figured out it related to this fetish. When I figured out I kept it a secret for a while, then I told my gf.
