I watched BB's streams in 2014, I believe.
Was pretty chill back then. A strict 'no ban unless they spam' policy plus as little censorship as possible, no facecam putting his faggot face on the screen 24/7, no prefacing 3 hours of 'banter' from a guy who hasn't left his room in a decade, no endless whining and self-victimization. What you got was mediocre trolling (which was the best/only there was on twitch, to my knowledge) and below-average gameplay. Mixed bag, but all around entertaining. Was pretty 4chan-y.
First stuff I realized the guy was nuts was somewhere mid-way of the DanielFromSL stuff happening. I realized that he wasn't just fucking with Daniel, but that he serious. He wasn't just playing a character - never was - and seriously tried to convince us of the ills Daniel supposedly did. Personal army-ing his viewership. No mistake, Daniel was (is still, from what I see) an actual cunt, but MT was making stuff up & being very manipulative. Then, the Shekelberg stuff happend, then there was a long drought where he was unwatchably boring (H1Z1, pulling in ~40 viewers avg)… when he went to Hitbox it got entertaining again, not because of him but because of chat. I remember the subs spamming weird deviant art fetish shit (Hitbox has this embedded image feature for subs), people developing drama and tearing into each other. That was fun, if you engaged.
(May be remembering all this through rose-tinted glasses… only way I can justify ever enjoying this guys cocks. I mean, I'm pretty sure the autistic screaming wasn't that frequent back then, right? He talked way less, I'm sure?)
I was an on-and-off regular, however, at some point my dislike for BB grew too strong. Thanks to these threads, I learned to enjoy his antics again… in a different way. Embrace the trolldom.
