>every big name lolcow screeching about patreon charging 40 cents for their hipster welfare gibsmedats

>autists screeching about how they can't launder their cash by circlejerking it anymore

>everyone is revealed to be a massive jew about having to pay a few cents more for their services because patreon got in trouble with Paypal

0903af No.297465

Good, I want to see all ecelebs suffer and die in poverty because they refused to get a real job.

e84e78 No.297467

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the patreon bubble was already bursting, or at least deflating, wasn't it?

Numbers going down for a lot of people, especially the ones who didn't actually make anything, just e-beg. There was also the thing where one patreon person supported their friends and vice versa, so a lot of the money they were making wasn't really being made, it was just being recirculated between people in cliques.

This extra charge thing is just accelerating something that was obviously going to happen eventually. But I'm glad it's happening, because I want to see these people fuck off from the internet.

>autists screeching about how they can't launder their cash by circlejerking it anymore

I remember the Amazing Atheist showing how he donates $6.66 to other Youtubers like Sargon etc. Wouldn't be shocked if there was a major scandal in a few years regarding the laundering of elicit cash. Or has there already been something like that?

c7ad9f No.297476

> sell drugs

> need to enter it legitimately into the financial system

> retarded whore gf has make-up vlogs from when she was 17

> call her "StarlightASMR" and launder it through her Patreon

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the e-celebs are donating to each other, though I can't imagine the actual amount is that high. I would guess it's more likely among those who have managers since they can easily arrange it among their clients and sell it to them as "seeding the tip jar" like they do in bars.

1e2c00 No.297499

>>297476

Well to be fair when laundering money criminals usually have to pay a steep fee. If anything this shit is still really cheap all things considering. Now I dont know how much in all they have to pay (if its a percentage or if its like per dollar ect) but this would be cheaper than paying some asian shop to do it.

>it's not even a full 40 cents they have to pay

PROTIP: if you can't afford to pay an extra 35 cents, you're not in a good financial situation to be doing so.

also protip: if their art isn't even worth an extra quarter and a dime, then they're not very good producers.

663974 No.297532

Let's say Brianna Wu gets a ten dollar donation so she picks five of her underlings and gives them each a dollar and pockets five dollars. Those five underlings also pledge one dollar each back to Brianna Wu so in the end Brianna's Patreon reflects that she made fifteen dollars instead of ten while the underlings appeared to also make a dollar even though they pledged it right back to Brianna and never saw it to begin with.

c7ad9f No.297548

>>297532

I don't doubt that's going on (especially in some "Senpai pls notice me" way among underlings). But how much of Sargon's $8k a month is being redirected that way? I have no idea but I have difficulty wrapping my mind around any of those numbers.

I think an underrated danger is that a number of people giving very small amounts on a recurring basis are being reminded *at all* that they're doing so and will cancel it because they haven't watched any videos or read any comics or anything from these people in ages. It's well known that consumers will let recurring charges go for an incredibly long time before canceling (and unscrupulous companies help this by making it difficult to do so). But I think a lot will just blanket cancel when they are reminded they're being charged and are about to be charged fractionally more.

Why don't they just get real jobs?

6be440 No.297641

WAAAAAAAAAAAH OUR HIPSTER WELFARE IS DRYING UP BECAUSE 35 CENTS IS TOO MUCH MORE FOR OUR JOBLESS PATRONS TO AFFORD

Because Wyminz Studies degrees aren't real degrees.

The obvious moral of this story is that if you're relying on dollar donations to survive you need to get a day job and if you are having your finances ruined by a .35¢ surcharge you should probably reevaluate your spending habits. Also loling at all these retards who quit their jobs to be twitch strangers and expected the rise to never end.

Campaigning to have the alternative hipster welfare shut down because of whatever 'ist' was popular that week probably wasn't the best idea huh? Hopefully we'll start seeing 'I'm being kicked out of my apartment!!!!' soon.

Jesus Christ that is depressing to think an entire segment of the population acts like this.

If it isn't complaining that the minimum wage isn't $50 p/h, it's complaining about a $0.35 surcharge on e-begging donations. Our generation is peak lolcow and make no mistake.

What does she do for a living?

Can't Moviebob invite her to his mancave or does he need to ask his parents first?

0a0777 No.297684

>>297683

Considering that people living with their parents while being around MovieBob’s age is somewhat normal now, that it isn’t so bad. The reality is that MovieBob lives on his own in some shitty basement apartment in Boston because he’s too proud to move to a place with a more reasonable cost of living because fuck people who live in the suburbs or country, right?

He doesn’t seem like the type to clean up a lot so it’s best if he just cranks one out to him fantasizing about using that Armenian con artists’s hoop earrings like handlebars as he fucks her.

I love Bob. Like he actually read that post and he must have felt the sting, and decided that the best response was to correct her that it's not JUST his parents' basement, but his "workspace" filled with video games.

This is such crap. I don't give my hard-earned shekels to anyone on patreon, but if I were to do so, I would like to give it to that person to pay for his work, not to a whole bunch of completely other people to pay for their work.
