They are probably only reducing the degree to which he is holding back from expressing his actual view points. I've only skimmed some parts of a video where he talked about about free speech, was lucky enough to end up on a bit where he made he said that the harrasment leftists activists do is the same as microaggressions (back-handed statements and passive aggressive stuff, whether intentional or not). Someone punch you and ganging up on you in a debate is not the same as some guy being hamfisted and clumsy with words.
