There might be politicians elected to local or even state office with fewer qualifications than him, but national? As stupid as reps/senators can be sometimes, I doubt it.

Second, why is he not trying to unseat a Republican? True, Massachusetts has no Republican national reps or senators at the moment, but there's a decent chunk of state reps and senators that are Republican. Not like it really matters since Dems hold a supermajority, but still. Why go after one of your own? I know the answer to this one, at least: John thinks himself to be so important that he couldn't deal with being anything as lowly as a state politician. He wants to go straight to the top because he thinks he deserves it.

Third, why Lynch? He's a longtime politician, very well-loved in his district, and he actually has beliefs that he's consistent with and sticks up for, as I mentioned earlier when he voted against Obamacare as part of a pro-life Dem group. John has zero political experience (not necessarily a detriment considering Trump is our president now, but Trump also has a lifetime of business experience and actually has charisma); isn't loved by anyone that isn't the most beta of beta males; and has no beliefs, merely choosing to virtue signal any time the latest "progressive" cause goes blaring across social media. The contrast couldn't be more stark.

Finally, assuming that through some stroke of fate he actually did manage to primary Lynch, why does he think that a district composed mostly of union members and tradesmen will give a flying fuck about the tech industry that he's running her campaign on, considering that tech has the potential to put them out of a job? He could set up the easiest Republican victory in Massachusetts history if he actually became the Dem nominee, because all those hardworking tradesmen would take one look at John and nope the fuck away from his ghoulish visage and vote for literally anyone else.

If nothing else, this will definitely give plenty of salt for the next two years, if he actually manages to keep this shit going that long and doesn't get bored and quit. I'll also laugh hysterically if he gets brought up on charges from the FEC for misusing campaign funds, because you just know he's gonna spend campaign money on anime figures and vidya he never plays.

And as I mentioned before, I still do not understand Frank's motivation in all this. He HAS to see that this is just throwing money down a hole that he's never going to get back, right? Then again, considering how he bankrolled Rev60 and John's multiple SRS treatments, maybe he is just that bad with money. That's arguably a contradiction in terms, since identitarianism as a goal unto itself today doesn't advance any leftist agenda. Bernie Sanders may have kowtowed to the political correctness dominating leftism, just as Trump has made meaningless gestures to the religious fundamentalists that linger on the right, but both figures represented a break from the neolib/neocon antipopulism that has dominated the major parties for decades now.

I'm not convinced that he actually gives a shit about the tech industry. He only pretends to because he naively assumes that being an Internet SJW makes him an "advocate for the tech industry" without understanding what this title actually means as anything other than a collection of buzzwords.

He's talked before about "keeping tech jobs in Boston" but it's quite clear that he has no idea what he's talking about and is just spitballing things that sound good to him without any concern for towing the party line. His only real interest is censoring Internet racists which makes him think he's some kind of expert / advocate for all things technology even though it has fuck all to do with jobs or the industry.

He thinks a Congressional seat will allow him to pump out online censorship legislation so that no one will be able to criticize him, and describes this as "advocacy for the tech industry" because he's too dumb to know what "the tech industry" actually is (either that, or he's a wannabe brilliant manipulator who knows it's better to sugarcoat and mislead than to tell the truth). "The tech industry" is more of an afterthought than a priority for his "political platform" and he emphasizes it as a way to draw attention away from what he really wants to do.

Which is still hilarious because Democrats could give less of a shit about diverting funds to a specific industry which in Wu's case is in fact the definition of nepotism.

Related, idk if it's been posted here already but some guy wrote an editorial about why Wu is an inherently terrible choice for Massachusetts Democrats that touches on the tech / nepotism stuff. It's a good read and makes me look forward to the next two years as Johnny attracts more mainstream criticism by thrusting himself even further into the public spotlight.
