That is basically game design and making games, kinda why indie devs only use sprites since it easier to bug test and focus test. With 3d its more of a headache.

Giving you an example one have to figure out how much effects one can get away with on a system and how shitty the graphics can be before someone says fuck that shit, even simple shit like animation has to be good.

So the big headache is the animation-tree with the character or with an AI or multiple ones. some effects and lighting is easier now than before, even making a good skybox with day and night cycles is an easy task to do, the headache is if there is allot of physical destruction with AIs, animation-trees, lighting, day/night cycles, good texture load and lastly art in the level design.

Making Go Homo is not a hard challenge or task, its basically what one does to make sure a level is paced good or to show off tech. But if its a walking sim, its more or less have an easy objective to see the systems in place works fine, or to figure out the AI does not fuck up in a test, if they have a house that is too sensitive and so on.

Its all a headache and I don't understand why someone would be a game designer or make a game.

So at best I believe it was incompetency from Sargon, Unity is not a hard 3d beast but there are better engines one could do the same thing and do it with competent team in half the time one would do with Unity. I'm looking at UDK its so user friendly with the level design in geometry and later put on"art" is an easy task, even the improvements in the Cryengine is really good now.

So I don't get why he did not invest in a better engine, later to export the art onto UDK, which is not hard. Also the engine is so flexible that over the top or fixed cameras is not a problem as it was before plus over the top and fixed camera one can get away with more art, textures and effects.
