Honestly, what is really sad about his channel was that early on he had a great balance of humor and using actual science and math, he jumped the shark with the Majora's Mask video where he talked about Link being death, you know instead of the other things he could have talked about of that particular game.

I don't get why people think Matpat is egotistical or thinks he knows better than the game creators. He's literally making theories, the entire point is to suggest things that haven't been suggested before often, things that MIGHT be true (which is why they are theories and not Game Stories or Game Facts). I'd rather have someone confidently sharing theories like Matpat does than being a beta fuck going "well, it's probably not true, but maybe it might be possible for X character to be Y".
Like, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared is a weird web series, and Matpat gives a great theory on it. He admits other people have said similar (but not the same) things, and just says that none of it is ever going to be official since it defeats the point of the series.
He can be a bit annoying, but I enjoy some of his live streams and at least half of the Game Theory episodes are pretty good. I do dislike pretty much everything else the channel puts out, though.
