So /co/. What's your made-up fantasy of handling your cartoons? What are your original artistic and business savvy practices you want to try?

>Practice every jewish trick and creative way of begging and selling literally nothing for money (Minecraft) I'd make my investors and fans pay for an overglorified toy that's actually a ticket(a unique code) for my official convention and any unique one-time things they cannot copy.

>Buy and kill all the fanmade websites. Have my own website to keep the autism under control. Have my own conventions to also keep the autism under control.

>Keep working on and editing my previous works to make bank with minimal effort/low costs on my cartoons

>Release the source files for my cartoons so the fans can create free advertising and fandom content to support their fandom.

>Have a crap load of episodes handled by 100 different artists and directors to offer a huge diversity in terms of storytelling. Like ever wondered what Star Wars would have been handled like by Invader Zim's creator?

>Hype up my movie and secretly release a horror movie that was pretending to be an innocent children's movie.

>Flesh out the world design and characters outside of the cartoon show's conventional narrative, but without extended canon bullshit like comic books. Release countless bonus material of characters interacting for 10 hours by having interesting dialogue low on visuals.

>Have my movies played on my website in an interactive environment where you can pause and click to unlock bonus material.

>Test and pre-test my writers and directors during pre-production through script checking and animatic checking so they don't waste my money and I don't wake up with talentless people at my door who cannot write charming, suave, badass characters and interesting creative stories, jokes, endings, plot points, etc.

>Assign huge teams to work on every tiny aspect behind the show. Every character can each have 3 writers, 1 director, a song composer, its own animation team behind it, comedy writer, drama writer, romance writer, action writer, etc. for each character. Practically an entire team behind each tiny aspect of the show, assuring me the cartoon will be super depthful more than an usual cartoon.

I'd also love to see a huge investor project where theaters accept to release a 20 minute episodic series with the quality of a movie. It would really push the envelope and quality for 20 minute narratives. Just like Tom & Jerry pushed the quality for slapstick comedy back in theaters before it got ported to TV as a normal thing.

Japan copied the French. Let this be known and let Japan's industry burn in hell in front of the French revolution.

>Implying you can keep autism under control

Depends, do I have infinite money in this scenario?

>Since I have quite a few ideas for shows/scripts I do/helm the writing and supervise most of the animation process (design and storyboarding)

>After making my dream ideas, let the other crew spitball new ideas

>Greenlit the cream of the crop

>Don't interact with the fandom in any way (neither appease or mock)

The only one that seems to improve quality is developing the cartoon with my own studio and selling the product to a network. It's hard work but it's what made Ed, Edd n Eddy so good.

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.

Genesis/SNES/NES/ video game animation specials where the majority of the time it plays music in tandem with the actions, storyboarding, feelings, without any sound effects. Sound effects would fit a less atmosphere-intensive scene and a more action-intense scene where you need to hear the punches, explosions, guns firing, grunts, yelling.

The only time when the characters actually talk is for incredibly meaningful sentences which set the tone, context and personality. These words are said in order to know what the characters are thinking of when they make a specific expression at something.

I think 30 minute shows should be the absolute norm for EPISODIC cartoon shows. 10 extra minutes gives that time to have more character interaction scenes and everything else to develop that 1-shot plot nobody will be exploring in a long time.

45 minutes is a waste because it becomes boring like the Adventures of TinTin and Veggitales and it starts feeling kinda loose and makes the writers fuck up the pacing.

George Shrinks handled 30 minute episodes well.

Note that on-going series do not require extra time per episode. If anything shit like Naruto should seriously trim down the time spent per episode because Kishimoto doesn't do anything useful with those 66 minute episodes.

Another practice that should be done by TV executives and cartoonists is to separate the show between adventure and slice of life completely instead of mixing it, in order to not hinder each other.

But they should be entirely different shows in genre. Wakfu did the mistake of making comedy adventures for the first 13 episodes.

Character-driven plots cannot develop if their interaction, chemistry and free time is limited by the story-driven part and vice versa.

And attempting to mix it like Teen Titans is only going to make both genres shittier.

The only way you can mix them is you separate them/halve them into 2x10 minutes of pure SoL/adventure in order to not dilute them.

>Steal Isekai trapped in another world bullshit

>Use meta narrative mystery bullshit 'worldbuilding' to draw in autists

>Basically everyone is referencing strange things happening outside of the game world

>Some characters age significantly between episodes, some stay the same

>Some are legitimately trapped and can't log out, but there are tons of different games they can go to kill time

>Eventually reveal that the game is a way to pass time for thousands upon thousands of people in a spaceship traveling to a distant star with sub-light speeds

>Some people are basically in cryostasis and just need something to keep their brain occupied

>Some are ships crew and will literally be born, live with, and die knowing these crew members without ever meeting them

And unlike all those pussy japanese cartoons, I'll actually let the game have interesting race/class combinations instead of anime character, anime character with pointy ears and anime character with cat ears. One of those motherfuckers is at least going to be an Orca Bard that does buffing whale songs.

I'm a simple man with simple plans

>build a large gallery of reoccurring characters with their own side stories and motivations

>have them all gain new items and equips relatively often

>Sell merchandise of characters and items

>maintain MMO in the same world maybe with crossover events

>use comics to tell what other characters do while they're not with the MC and tried to build a lot of interest in those characters and their lives and conflicts

>have the story serialized but have events happen in a wide expansive world where prior events aren't usually relevant to current episodes so that's it's mostly watchable out of order

>have episodes be 11 minutes

>use multi-part episodes to tell longer stories if necessary

>use the large world to allow villains to have some big wins of their own, like taking over or destroying a kingdom, stealing some powerful item, not letting them destroy the world but allowing them to beat the MC and do something of consequence

The hope would be to use toys and games to fund the production of the show and comics and release both for free, try and build a universe with the characters and world that can be expanded on. Create a world that doesn't revolve around the MCs but still have them be a part of it helping to shape it.

Well it is.

If I'm ever doing a 10 minute cartoon show skit which has around 300 episodes, then I'm changing the creative vision every ten episodes. And this applies to every cartoon which exceeds over 26 episodes and has a boring shaky writing to begin with.
