==ITT: When the adaptation is better than the source material

>Read vertigo's I Zombie back in the day

>Starts as funny, gorey detective story reminiscent of the early buffy/angel comics

>Introduces egyptian mummy romance/villain and ends with her turning into a giant naked zombie goddess and flying into space.

>End up watching the pilot for the show

>Twists the plot, keeps the detective angle and goes in a very different direction

>Knee jerk reaction of 'this isnt a REAL comic adaption' and drop the show

>Recently find 3 seasons on netflix with a 4th teased at comiccon and watch it all and enjoy it as a filler for buffy style horror comedy

>Doesnt follow the comic and instead starts to turn into story of how a zombie outbreak is dealt with when the zombies are sapient, lucid people that need brains.

>MC is also a confusing qt

Its not gods gift to television but i like it and look forward to season 4, the indian dude is very similar to a simon pegg or nick frost type actor and injects some healthy bongland sarcasm into the seattle murk.

Is it true she dates a black guy in the TV show?

Blade. He started out in comics as a black Londoner in flamboyant clothes who hunted vampires. He didn't have any abilities, and was mostly a secondary character who made guest appearances once in a while.

Moves just took the basic premise of the character and did their own thing. Blade was made into half-vampire, wore matrix inspired clothing, and used more exotic weapons and gadgets. He was also more charismatic and entertaining to watch than the original comic version.

I only saw a handful of episodes from the first two seasons, but there was no black romantic interest.

No thread died. Board wasn't at the max thread count. There might still be a few leftover slots after last weekend's spam and spam purge.

Why has nobody ever mentioned how he's dressed exactly like JC Denton?

I remember first seeing Blade in the spiderman cartoon which I'm sure came before the film and I'm positive he was in that same sort of gear then.

Though I think his sword was a UV lighsaber because can't go having a dude with a katana stabbing people on kiddies TV can we?

Specifically the Wolfman/Perez version of the comics, which could best be described as a scattered assortment of good ideas lost in a river of schlock.

First Blade movie came out three years before DeusEx, so technically it's JC dressed like Blade.

>>954266

He looked more like a leather-obsessed biker rather than Matrix' stylistic precursor.

I definitely enjoy the show. Takes what should be a pretty dark and depressing concept and just has fun with it. I definitely liked how they were willing to completely assrape the status quo at the end of the latest season, which is something shows rarely have the courage to do. However I'm definitely mad we won't get to see Major turn into modern day Van Helsing like I was hoping.
