>Is hard to find someone who is attractive and acts well enough
It's not that hard, you just have to look. Hemsworth was a soap opera actor before Thor. Occam's Razor would be nepotism, favors, marketing, and personal agendas of people in charge. Marketing leads to:
>fatgirls that can act will sue your ass if you hire someone for their looks
At worst, they would just bitch on social media, and by doing that they would risk being blackslisted. Fat girls who blog or write articles are much bigger problem. Basically, to market the film, casting directors/producers need to find someone attractive enough to bring men in, but without triggering insecure women. When neopotism, agendas, and all sorts of favors interfere with the process, you get shitshows like Viklander or Julia Roberts getting cast in a role of an attractive woman.

Paltrow is age appropriate and can actually come across as a "person in charge." They did shit bed with Adams. She is a good actress and looks well for her age, but she didn't fit the role. She was too old for both Cavil and to be an ambitious and promising journalist at the beginning of her career. Eva Green, Gemma Arterton, or Jane Montgomery were better choices.
