What are the best ones? What are the worst ones? When will they finally kill the shitty New 52 universe?

Haven't read all the comics these are based on so this is more just a critique of the movies themselves for many of them.

>Superman: Doomsday

It's okay.

>Justice League: The New Frontier

Great & really captures the spirit of what these characters should be. Also thankfully removed the heavy handed black guy side story.

>Batman: Gotham Knight

Good compilation project of various visions. Though it was intended to be part of Nolan's trilogy, it thankfully is more inspired by it than literally a part of it. Gave it a lot more creative freedom & allowed it to stand on it's own feet. If you can find it, I'd say watch it in the original japanese. The english voice acting just doesn't fit as well.

>Wonder Woman

The best solo Wonder Woman film out there.

>Green Lantern: First Flight

Pretty alright movie but a generic cop story.

>Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

Fantastic buddy duo movie.

>Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths

Very good. Made the Earth 2 Crime Syndicate memorable. James Woods kills it as Owl Man. Only criticism is how old Batman sounds.

>Batman: Under the Red Hood

Great story. Good animation. Made me like Jason Todd.

>Superman/Batman Apocalypse

Great Supergirl story. The final fight with Darkseid especially is astounding.

>Superman/Shazam

It's not really a movie. Just a short. But it's a lot better than the live action Shazam.

>All Star Superman

A great Superman story done in a more pleasing art style.

>Green Lantern: Emerald Knights

Barely remember it. Think it was just random lantern stories disconnected.

>Batman: Year One

More of a Jim Gordon story than a Batman one. Not the biggest fan of Frank Miller either. Wouldn't say it's a must watch. Catwoman in the film is also really stupidly OP for a hooker.

>Justice League: Doom

Good Legion of Doom versus Justice League story. I like how it doesn't shit on Batman too much for his plans but still does reprimand him for causing this mess.

>Superman vs. The Elite

I only really remember the ending.

>Dark Knight Returns 1 & 2

Good movies that accurately adapt the graphic novel. However, again, I'm not a Frank Miller fan. He even ruins this story with subsequent follow ups.

>Superman: Unbound

Only remember Lois flipping off Brainiac & the stupid climax.

>All the New 52 based movies

Horrible. All of them. Horrible. Low framerate animation, edgy tone, voice acting is so bland I can't remember anyone good, & no consistency despite taking place in the same universe together. Just ignore them.

>Batman: Assault on Arkham

As mixed as the Arkham games are, this movie doesn't do it any favors. It's as disconnected from the continuity as the comics are. Plus shoehorns in more Deadshot fucking Harley for no reason.

>Justice League: Gods & Monsters

Mixed feelings. I enjoyed it but the tone is very edgy & grim. A lot of death & blood. Plus Mexican Superman exists as a product of Zodd cucking Jor El.

>Batman The Killing Joke

Possibly the most insulting movie on this list. A horrible adaptation that shoehorns in a plot about Batgirl for the first third of the movie. Including a shoehorned one night stand with Batman. Instead of expanding on the actual story, it wastes time & money on an angry soyboy's feminist fanfiction.

>Batman & Harley Quinn

Timm…. why?

>Batman: Gotham by Gaslight

Changes too much for the sake of change rather than adapting the story accurately. Completely skips over the second story that takes place after the Jack the Ripper plot too.

>Justice League vs. The Fatal Five

An actual good movie again that brings back the animated universe properly. Even makes Jessica Cruz a likable character despite being a New 52 invention.

>Batman Hush

Like Gotham by Gaslight & The Killing Joke, this movie barely adapts the actual story. Making tons of unneeded changes to fuck with your expectations for a good animated adaptation.

>Assault on Arkham

It's actually a suicide squad movie, not a Batman Arkham vidya movie. In that light I actually liked it a fair bunch although for the life of me I cannot understand why Harley/Deadshot's "romance" is a thing when the Killer Frost/King Shark relationship was a lot more wholesome and enjoyable to watch. Also KGBeast's utterly wasted.

RIP King Shark.

Also all I remember of Justice League War is Green Lantern and Batman attacking Superman out of the blue and Batman refusing to explain himself for the entirety of that fight(Despite halfway through the fight Superman giving him multiple chances, and then when he's getting choked he goes "I'm trying to"), and then somehow calming superman down by whispering to him, instead of doing that from the start.

This is the best one because it was made by the people who make the DTV Scooby-Doo movies and not DC.

Wrong. It's literally an Arkham game universe tie in movie.

I thought the other one with Bronze Tiger was supposed to be the tie-in?

No. Hell to Pay is part of the New 52 based animated universe. Reverse Flash from Flashpoint is literally part of the plot.

>Justice League Doom

I felt this is where the cracks began to show for the DC animated movies. It's ok but I'm not a fan of how Vandal Savage's plan to cleanse the earth. I think it would've worked better if you had them team up to kill the Justice League and allow it to get personal or just do the original story where Ra's Al Ghul is the one responsible. That and the way Metallo tries to kill Superman seems very stupid. He disguises himself as a man trying to jump off a building even though Supes has x-ray vision and should be able to see through him.

The way I'd describe the DC animated movies is they start off really good but then when Flashpoint Paradox comes around that's when it starts to go to shit. Basically the movies based on the New 52 are crap and the only good movies since then are few and far between. Only a handful of movies after the New 52 crap are decent.

Overall agree with your list

>>All the New 52 based movies

>Horrible. All of them. Horrible. Low framerate animation, edgy tone, voice acting is so bland I can't remember anyone good, & no consistency despite taking place in the same universe together. Just ignore them.

This is sad because of how generally accurate this is. I can only recommend them if you're already setting your sights low. Once you do that, you can grade them on a decimal scale and see that after New 52 died, that's when they broke free and began to improve in minor ways, while others flounder completely. Personally never liked New 52 to begin with.

>Justice League vs. The Fatal Five

>An actual good movie again that brings back the animated universe properly. Even makes Jessica Cruz a likable character despite being a New 52 invention.

Jessica Cruz is likable, but still a terrible New 52 invention which harms the movie overall.

I got into comics from New 52. But as I kept going I started to catch wise to the problems with big two comics. The biggest being there's just a complete lack of communication. Making coherent stories in a linear timeline impossible to interpret. I can't even say the New 52 had good ideas. The closest is the Court of Owls but they're squandered all the same outside of the first Batman story arc & maybe the Talon hero series. I really don't understand why DC or WB thought that'd be the prime example of a setting to use for animated movies. But by the animation & writing it's obvious they just didn't care.

it's a SS movie with the Arkham elements thrown in there to make it marketable, possibly a decision from the powers that be. Take all the wink-wink nods to Arkham Asylum and it's still a competent movie.

The only N52 movie I liked was Justice League Dark. It was the only one that happened to have fun with the material, despite being the definition of edge.

This.

The Scooby-Doo teams are miles ahead. Even the Team-Up comics had better characterization and plot development than most of the stuff the rest of the DC staff put out.
