Yes, it was worse than the third. It was filled with plot holes, cheese, and a nonsense story about a time loop that is poorly explained. "Time keeps slipping into the future" which essentially means that clocks are running faster and that means that time is actually running faster. Yeah, great effect.

Spy Kids 3 was also bad, don't forget. Hardly made sense. Spy Kids 4 didn't make sense period.

Spy Kids was always less than b-grade, that's why I find all of them unwatchable now. It was just a fun passion project from a director who previously worked on low-budget films.

If you're a kid they're somewhat enjoyable. If you're an adult not so much. That being said there's a few surprisingly deep moments in the second film.
