Yes and no. It had some moments like the clips in the post you replied to. The show fell apart whenever there was a battle. No one dies, no one gets shot. It broke my sense of disbelief as a child and always made the show less enjoyable. It wasn't like he man or transformers, you know at a young age soldiers die in battle. I watched the show whenever I could because it was the 80's and no internet. We all loved the toys and had proper battles. The toys were the stronger aspect of the franchise.
GI Joe is dead. In a post call of duty environment no kid is going to accept that show but a 4-6 year old and they won't market soldiers to that age group. They need to reinvent the franchise with PG-13 storytelling and find an older demographic. Direct to video animation and video games with the appropriate merchandising. Crazy hasbro has let the franchise die because they refuse to create a new approach.
