Explain your sacred harp thing. Why do you pray to that organ?

What is this strawman? I've never heard anyone say that about the Catholics.

What?
The sacred harp is the voice. I'm a Protestant and we say that.

Are you those who worship rock concerts, or do you worship Gregorian chants, or do you perhaps contradict the Bible and believe music sinful or something?
Serious answer: The pipe organ is only a musical instrument. However it has qualities that make it well suited for musical accompaniment in a church.
The pipe organ:
- can be played by one person
- has enough sound force to be the sole instrument for even a large church, no electric amplifiers needed
- can produce a very wide range of sounds
- can last for more than a century once installed and needs to be maintained only every 40 years or so

A pipe organ isn't even a harp but a wind instrument.

>has enough sound force to be the sole instrument for even a large church
There is no "a large church". The church is us, not a building. And gatherings of Christians are not supposed to be large, and not supposed to have some dumbass in a dress spouting off at everyone else.

The local congregation is a church, and churches have varying numbers of members.
Galatians 1:2 NASB — and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia:
>And gatherings of Christians are not supposed to be large
Acts 5:14 NASB — And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number,
>church services are not biblical
Not even worth addressing in detail.
We are to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, and there are offices of pastor and deacon outlined in the Bible.
You should get your theology somewhere other than a schizo's WordPress blog.

>The local congregation is a church
Yes. Not a building. And not hundreds of people who don't know each other sitting in a building on a weekly schedule for no reason.
>And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number,
That does not support the anti-biblical concept of having some kikey priest dictating to hundreds of people. More Christians does not mean bigger assemblies of them, it means more assemblies.
>We are to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together
But you are forsaking it, that's the point. Read the link. You are not assembling. Everyone has to participate.

It is from the bible. Ignoring the bible won't change what it says. Start at 1 Corinthians 14:20 and read.

Small enough that you can still assemble as described. Which part of "When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation" is confusing you?

I'm just asking for your full argument.
What is your basis for saying every congregant needs to lead something during the Sunday service? It seems to me that you're just being contrarian.
There are a couple hundred members at my church. In one hour we sing hymns together and the pastor preaches to all of us, and in another hour we break into smaller groups where you can get that time to fellowship intimately. Where is the problem? Why is my ecclesiology wrong and why, Biblically?
>a revelation, a tongue
what kind of pentecostal are you?

1 Corinthians, like I told you.

Pentecostalism is characterized by a continuation of those spiritual gifts of prophecy and speaking in tongues, among others

Your application of the text marks your charismatic theology, you expect tongues and prophecy today. Really I'm not trying to catch you in anything I don't know why you're getting so defensive.

I am not getting defensive, I am trying to figure out why you think only a Pentecostal has access to a bible. It is not my words, it is a quote, from the bible. I don't understand how this is confusing. If you are not assembling as dictated in the bible, then there is nothing biblical about your church services. It is just a cultural custom you adhere to.

I don't think only a Pentecostal has access to the Bible, I think that Pentecostals teach continuationism and an open canon while rejecting cessationism and a closed canon. I do not see that list as requirements for valid churches in this dispensation because God doesn't send such signs any more.
What kind of church do you go to? That's the question I'm getting at

>I can ignore what the bible says if I don't like it
Then you're not a Christian.
>What kind of church do you go to?
No? What made you think after pointing out how church services are not biblical that I would be part of a corporation that teaches heresy? Christians do not need to assemble on a schedule, do not need a special building to assemble in, do not need a corporate entity to beg for their money, and do not assemble by sitting passively and listening to some cuck spout heresy. We meet as often as we feel the desire, in someone's house, and we all participate. Exactly as laid out in 1 Corinthians.
