>Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31. Also, keep in mind that we're made in the image of God, and that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.

Physical well and being are essentials for a deep connection, not only with ourselves but with nature. I was a fat mess one and a half year ago. I was 170 kilos at 1.86. Now i'm 108.
life has been opened for me. Mentally i feel sharper than i ever was.

There is no wisdom in picking up an object and putting it down repeatedly.

Not inherently, but strength is a good thing and with the right programming picking things up and putting them down makes you stronger.

It's not mutually exclusive though, your argument makes no sense. There are actions that build wisdom, and actions that build strength, you have the ability to do both.

It's an interesting footnote in Christian history that gets romanticized to be a larger movement than it was, sadly

fast for a week, then ask yourself, why did GOD said that we should be fasting, while the result is that i'm physically weak?
perhaps fasting is the real battle, that makes you as a result physically weak, as you went through a battle with yourself.
>>5689
why do you want to be strong anyway?
is there a purpose to it?

Being strong is a very good way to help others. If someone is moving to a new place, or if there's a natural disaster and someone is trapped under something heavy, or if your job requires physical labor, etc. There's tons of ways to use strength to help yourself and others get through life easier. Also, going to the gym regularly and keeping a solid schedule trains you to be more disciplined and care more about taking care of your body. Our bodies are gifts from God, we have every reason to take care of them and make sure they're in the best shape they can be in.

Why become a chess master, or great painter? Is there "utility" in those things? There is beauty and meaning in cultivating excellence for it's own sake, and refusing to put any effort into your own physicality is a terrible waste of the potential God gave us.
Also being strong is useful for work, defending yourself or your family if the need arises, and in cultivating your own masculine nature.
Not to mention it feels good and makes you look good.
A better question is, why do you want to be weak? What purpose is there in that?

Given that it's a near certainty Jesus wants us to be healthy and take care of the bodies he has gifted us, yes.
