It’s so stupid I can’t even formulate a proper counter argument.

I'd say that the fetus moving in womb shows that the baby in question has already received a soul by that time. And since the baby belongs to the human species, the soul must be a human soul. And if the counter argument is that babies can move, learn to know their mother's voice, learn to recognize songs, etc. without a soul, that throws in the question the entire concept of souls. What is a soul? Is the questioner sure that he/she has a soul and is not just following biochemical impulses?

Then there is the issue of babies not always being born at the same developmental age. Nowadays very small premature babies can survive with medical care. In other cases the baby is born late. Can there be equally developed babies where one has soul and the other one doesn't?

>Pre 1000 AD

>Pre-Christian Northern European Germanic pagans:

>"A person literally doesn't have a soul until they are given a name."

>"Therefore, when we kill a child we don't want by exposure (i.e. leaving it out in the middle of nowhere to die of hunger or weather or to be eaten by wild animals) it isn't a big deal."

>Pre-Christian Romans probably had simliar rationalizations when they disposed unwanted children into literal mass garbage dumps.

>2019 AD

>Liberals, Secularists, "Progressives", etc., the farther they move from God, the more they are literally just regressing more and more back into the natural fallen state of humanity - paganism.

Also, there is just the simple ugly truth that the "Pro-Choice" crowd will engage in whatever mental gymnastics and rationalizations are necessary in order to justify the real underlying reason for their rabid defense of this barbarism: sex without consequences. Pic related.

Case in point; here's some Clown World™ tier stuff I found on Facebook. Yes, you read that right: if you think killing children is wrong, that's just your "emotions", and you should be "responsible" for them not infringing on a woman's "right to choose", and should support things that make fornication safer and easier.

If a theological point from another "Christian" its likely because they come from

<a heretical sect that claims small children go straight to hell (ei. The unbaptised)

<calvinists, papists, etc

If this is their rationalization as to why there isn't a contradiction for God being Just or Merciful just let them know

>thats heretical

If this is some normie wizard sleeve making an argument as to why its okay to kill her own brood

<"Thanks for precautions since you are not fit to reproduce."

Eh, I think it comes from the same crowd that says "judge not" all the time without being able to quote the whole verse.

Non-Christians who want to turn the sword of Scripture back on us, without understanding it at all.

Those who die in infancy are by and large damned, in fact it is questionable if any are saved at all. Only a tiny few could be justified, by means that we do not fully understand.

Well the argument seems likeable at first, human capacity for reason and emotion is used as proof of a soul against animals. Babies and the disabled sometimes can't demonstrate those things.
