For the longest time even to this day all currency in the United States has printed on it "In god we trust" many point to this as supposed evidence that the United States is a christian nation. The establishment clause of the first amendment in the United States Constitution forbids any superior treatment of any establishment of religion so by definition this god printed on the money cannot be the God of the bible. The bible says the love of money is the root of all evil(1 timothy 6:10) and the bible makes it very clear that covetousness is idolatry.

Who is the most popular god in the world; worshiped by nearly 6 billion? Money! Who really owns this world Satan! As Christians we must distinguish ourselves from the pagans and idolaters around us. The Israelites did so through laws that we might consider barbaric and arbitrary today but God(The one true god) doesen't change and he still calls Israel(The church(us)) to distinguish ourselves from the heathens of the world albeit in a different way.
