Is there anything in scripture on children in the church? I am drawn to Lutheran churches as they encourage children to go to the main service. I would like to start going to church but i have a baby and feel uncomfortable leaving the baby in a strange nursery. The baby would also most likely feel uncomfortable in a nursery as well. Most people are already away from their child most of the week why be separated on Sunday too? Almost every catholic and protestant church we have looked into has a nursery and no orthodox churches are around. Is there a reason for this?

Father said that a baby noises during mass is the sign of a healthy parish. OTOH, the "hall" (basement) is also the cry room for when a baby decides to dot he sermon.

Some parents though bring their kids to church and then just ignore them for the whole service and let them run around, play on the pews, lie down, bang toys together, colour in picture books… Completely unacceptable behaviour when we’re talking about the worship of a god who cares enormously about reverence and correct worship (as evidenced by the first five books of the Bible).

Also I just want to say, NEVER leave your children in a church nursery, that’s exactly the kind of place predators will try to infiltrate. Be extremely suspicious of any church that wants your children to be taken out of your supervision for whatever reason.

All the adults in the Church nursery are vetted. Stop spreading anti-Christian paranoia. children there are much safer than in a public school.

>vetted
All predators start off with a clean record before they get caught. Vetting means absolutely nothing. It especially means nothing when the Catholic Church already has such a bad track record of covering up for abusers and trying to sweep abuse under the rug.
>public school
Even if they are safer (uncertain) that doesn’t mean they’re safe. Why would you give any opportunity for a predator to have access to your child? Ask yourself what possible motivation someone could have for insisting that you put your child into his care for hours at a time.
