>going to event on a Sunday

>decide to do it after church because it fits perfectly in the schedule

>three of my childhood friends help me with a small chore a few months ago so I decide to buy them a ticket

>tell them to come meet at church, where we have a fairly late service (starts an hour before noon)

>the losers are asleep until around 1, despite several phone calls

>they make it to the event after calling and bothering me while I'm trying to take advantage of getting there early with three non loser friends

>they look like pathetic bums who haven't showered in days and can't bother to shave their terribly grown facial hair or brush their hair or wear fresh clothing

>hurr durr sorry anon, we wuz asleep lol, but thanks for the tickets

Same day:

>my wife's kid sister is home from college

>who we pick up from the airport every time she comes, whose college we cover 1/4 for out of the kindness of our hearts to help her parents

>we want to take her to church

>we tell her we'll come pick her up and then we'll treat her to breakfast at the best place we know

>she moans and cries and makes excuses

>we end up getting to her parents' house only to go right back because she begged her mom not to go, her mom saying that we should take her once she wants to go on her own accord

>she's taking gender studies that she's swallowing up fully, her friends are LGBTBBQ, her program is full of junkie degenerates and rich kid hedonists, and the entire culture of his God-forsaken country is anti-Christ

>I've given her short, good quality books to read when she's over here to think about things on her own, mostly ethics and bare basic apologetics, with the intention that she read them while at college

>the books are all in her room's shelf, never been opened or even left her parents' house

>somehow she's supposed to decide on her own to come to church despite everything in her entire life telling her not to except for us, who are not ignored courtesy of her parents capitulating to her bratty bitching

Today was incredibly depressing. People I am naturally inclined to care about wouldn't lift a finger to think beyond what's being fed to them daily or break their cycle of hedonistic pleasure, not even as a show of respect for me. All I asked of them was to come to church, not run a marathon. It's really done a number on my desire to evangelize. I feel like I'm throwing pearls at swine, like I'm going to great lengths to try to bring the gospel to these people only to have it thrown at the floor and trampled. How the heck do I stop the blackpill on this?

It's going to be tough but you got to forgive them and still love them. Just keep on trying, OP.

Think about it this way. If you think you have it bad, imagine being God literally giving the Covenant laws to Moses only to discover your people already worshiping a golden calf (literally a Canaanite diety). It's that type of longsuffering God calls us to bring forth to the world. It sucks. I know the feel (my sister is culturally christian and won't ever listen to my attempts to get her kore devout).

I'll be praying for you and your family, OP. God love you.

Thanks anon, I appreciate it. I never thought about it from God's perspective. His people being rebellious idiots, cursing His name and defiling themselves for the sake of themselves. Despite this, God offered to pay for their sins.

You sounds like a responsible man trying to lead people, I try to do the same with my life as well with different circumstances

I think the thing to learn from this encounter (or set of encounters) is that you cannot beat the word (or any wisdom) into people. That's a lesson I had to learn very early on and although I still do it because of the acceptance of that in my culture it has limited success with someone who does not want to learn.

Take away from this encounter, as a believer, that although you do the right thing, give every opportunity, and do everything in your power to open the path to these people, that ultimately on the day of Judgement you are not held to whether or not other people believed, just that you held the faith and did the Will of God

Consider that if you had success in converting every person you so desire without this moment of introspection on failure. It would not be long before you were no longer acting in accordance with God's Will but instead you became your own god.

You cannot make them believe and you will not be asked "Why did you not do as I commanded?" But rather they will be asked "I have presented every opportunity through my good and faithful servant, why have you not believed?"

Don't hate your friends, especially the perceptibly lazy ones, there is no game to win, so do not call your brother a fool

She's doing pre-med, this is just an elective likely on the advice of Thot friends. I'd lean towards pulling out my funding, but it'd be a financial blow to her parents who are dealing with very expensive health issues.

>it'd be a financial blow to her parents who are dealing with very expensive health issues.

Has anyone consider talking her out of gender studies? I haven't met the girl and I don't want to judge, but it does seem extremely egoistic to blow a lot of other people's money in an useless course when those people are in dire financial need. Has the though of studying something profitable to help out her family been suggested to her?

In any case, I'm skeptical to how prone to being evangelized a gender studies student can be. She'll probably be more susceptible to it once she's been through her med career and has discovered that in life you actually have to work hard for the things you want. A problem I see, though, is that med education tends to teach human life as some sort of clockwork.

In any case, anon, I think you're doing the right thing. Act honestly, with purity of heart and persevere. Faith moves mountains. We'll pray for you.

>It's really done a number on my desire to evangelize.

This happens frequently. You begin to think "What is even the point?" or ponder if they are going to Hell because of your incompetence at convincing people. This then leads to you destroying your own self discipline and maybe even apostasy.

But that is a trap from Satan. You must understand that it is never you who ultimately wins over their hearts, it is God. The only thing we can do is show people that we exist and that Christ is around. We are supposed to be the light on the hill that is shown proudly through our deeds. Then people will have the choice of denying it or not. Reminds me of when Jesus said: "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin"

Just by reaching out to other people you have done your duty. Be proud and thankful.

She's not majoring in gender studies, she's doing some sort of technical biology course with the expectation of doing medical school. This is just an elective I'm assuming in the category she needs to fulfill her credit requirements. Her parents are the "education is everything, anything that's in school is good" sort of people, so I doubt they've told her not to waste her time with stupid courses like that. Very authority-is-always-right people. Come to think of it, it's probably why she's let it go to her head so much. Either way, the course I hope is just a one semester thing, and I believe it's already over. I'm hoping she doesn't double down on the stupidity and take another similar course.

I'm sorry to hear this man. I'm someone also struggling a bit with the blackpill, I've been better since accepting the faith and trying now to live for Christ, joining a church near me as well.

It is difficult. These are simply the times, the way I see it. If it was easy to be Christian in these hard times, then there'd be no point to the faith itself.

God bless man, I hope your situation improves.

Part of the purpose of the great commission is to warn even those people who choose not to believe. This is an ultimate "don't say I didn't warn you" type of situation. Here's some scripture references dealing with this.

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

<Titus 2:11

Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

<Ezekiel 33:1-6

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

<John 15:20-25

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

<John 3:20-21

But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

<Mark 13:9-10

And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

<Rev. 10:11

>my wife's kid sister is home from college

>who we pick up from the airport every time she comes, whose college we cover 1/4 for out of the kindness of our hearts to help her parents

This is really foolish. We can all agree that supporting tuition at a secular co-ed college is retarded, but there's a bigger issue.

Women need headship, first from her father, then from her husband. There can be no gap between headships, or she will find another head on her own, and this is often the secular world. I've seen this happen numerous times, even in my own family. Removing the influence of a godly male is poison. 9/10 times, maybe 99/100 times, a woman shouldn't go to college, and NEVER to a secular college.

A woman's God-given role is to be a wife and a mother like the Proverbs 31 woman. Education isn't bad, but thrusting an impressionable young woman into today's god-hating academic and god-hating hookup culture is very, very bad.

You've been working hard and paying money to help damn her.

You need to repent. You need to cut off the funding. You also need to reprimand your father-in-law for his ungodly, careless attitude towards his daughter. It's because of him that she's likely lost at this point. You need to assert that you were both wrong to send her to school. He'll probably think you're being too radical, but the commands of scripture are radical.

I beg forgiveness if I've told you wrong.
