>during the Arian controversy a large majority of bishops were Arians

>however there was never a bishop of Rome who was an Arian

really makes you think

Yes, it's great and should be celebrated. Rome was extremely resilient during many times.

It doesn't mean it stayed the same. And I don't know why. I take no joy in it either. And even if you wanted to ignore issues surrounding the Schism, you can't deny the past 50 years. No need to even rewind back 1000 years.

Yeah, if the Eastern Orthodox had stayed in the Church they could have helped the Church in Her time of need

Reminder that people that unironically think this didn't read the bible.

Do you have any good resources to read about the Arian Controversy? From a traditional Catholic perspective? Thank you!

Doesn't matter. Only sedevacantists can claim that there has never been a heretical pope now.

The Arian crisis was supported and inspirited by Jews.

There is literally not one filioquist Catholic who thinks that the Spirit is any lesser than the Father or the Son. If claiming that the Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son somehow implies that the Spirit is lesser than the Father and the Son, then you might as well say that the Son being begotten of the Father makes the Son lesser than the Father, which is nonsense. Just as the Son is begotten not made, the Spirit proceeds and is not made, and all three divine persons are equal and distinct as persons.

Pope Honorius I was posthumously anathematized for the heresy of Monothelitism at the Third Council of Constantinople. The decision to declare a Pope as a heretic must, of course, come from the magisterium as a whole rather than from laypeople on the internet, but it did indeed happen once.
