The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

OK, so I'm a college student and have finals this week, and am taking a break from studying to make this post.

My method is as follows: Before I start studying, I pray that I will study well. Then, right before the test, I pray to remember what I studied. I also pray that I will remain calm, because I get really bad test anxiety, even when I study for the test in question, and especially with big tests and/or tests in subjects I have trouble with (usually math). Does anyone else do this or something similar? It's worked pretty well for me so far. I'd just like to hear others' thoughts on this.

I was pretty much the same as you when I was in university.

>prayer before study

>pray to retain my knowledge

>prayer for clarity and calm during exam

I mean I don't have anxiety, but I would pray regardless.

I think all the prayer did have a positive impact on both my studies and my exam sitting

Good luck with the exams anon.

First Prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino

O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favour in the examinations for which I am now preparing. In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.

Through Christ our Lord.

St. Joseph of Cupertino, Pray for us.

Amen.

Second Prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino

O St. Joseph of Cupertino who by your prayer obtained from God to be asked at your examination, the only preposition you knew. Grant that I may like you succeed in the (here mention the name of Examination eg. History paper I ) examination.

In return, I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.

O St. Joseph of Cupertino pray for me

O Holy Ghost enlighten me

Our Lady of Good Studies pray for me

Sacred Head of Jesus, Seat of divine wisdom, enlighten me.

A Student's Prayer by St. Thomas Aquinas

Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator, true source of light and fountain of wisdom! Pour forth your brilliance upon my dense intellect, dissipate the darkness which covers me, that of sin and of ignorance. Grant me a penetrating mind to understand, a retentive memory, method and ease in learning, the lucidity to comprehend, and abundant grace in expressing myself. Guide the beginning of my work, direct its progress, and bring it to successful completion. This I ask through Jesus Christ, true God and true man, living and reigning with You and the Father, forever and ever.

Amen.

I pray before everything, so I see nothing odd about praying before exams.
