How exactly did the United 'Church' of Canada become the monstrosity that it is today (e.g. openly atheist clergy, 'all religions are valid paths to God' tripe, the usual alphabet soup spiel of other liberal 'churches', and so on and so forth)?

Not reformed, just curious as to how they wound up as one of the most befouled trees by a country mile.

Leaf here. Canada needs a Canadian Orthodoxy. All the different orthodox churches in canada need to form it up. Push out the Islamists and the already converged churches. The secular world isn't breeding and so isn't a threat.

If we keep it divided the way it is though with religion not tied to unified vision of the people or the land and with degenerate churches and thus lack of interest infesting the spiritual atmosphere we will continue to suffer.

If you think America is a culture-less hole, Canada is like that. It used to be fine I guess, but identity politics has destroyed it. It plays so perfectly into the Canuck stereotype of someone totally unwilling to give offense and has a single-minded devotion to beer and pot-smoking.

As for churches closing down, yeah once again Canadians are too polite. Anything which would bring them the slightest amount of conflict in their lives is shunned. Religion is no exception. I hope America just annexes us so I can move to Virginia.

It's weird. Like Scheer was a latin mass alter boy and probably still internally identifies with trad catholic beliefs. But he's totally unwilling to defend life…

Maybe, just maybe, if he gets a majority he will at least be willing to allow the pro-life catholics to introduce some legislation, unlike harper.
