Why a mission trip to Philippines? unless you're going to the Muslim region in the south, 90% of Filipinos are Catholic and the rest are Protestants. Are protestants seriously going to the only majority Christian country in Asia to convert Catholics instead of going to one of the other countless Buddhist, HIndu, Muslim, Atheist, or Pagan countries? What kind of insanity is that?
This angers me because my fiancee is a Filipina and I know a lot of Filipinos well, they're devoted to God and don't need someone trying to trouble them and drag them to some protestant church. Go to India, China, Japan, or literally any Asian country except maybe south Korea and you'll find endless hundreds of millions who've never heard a single word about Jesus. You're going to a safe country where people already know the gospel and carry God in their hearts, and there's a Christian church on literally every street corner, instead of going to a place where no one knows a thing about Christ or the gospel and where there's actual danger and risk.
You'll probably be welcomed, they're very friendly people even though they're poor, and they love Americans and white people. It's the kind of culture where people put themselves out and would give their last bit of food or sleep on the floor and give up their bed to be hospitable to a guest. And most speak English better than they speak the national language, and yes there are toilets in most places, it's poor and underdeveloped in some places but they're not spear throwing savages, they've been Christian for 500 years and it's highly westernized compared to its neighbors. It's also one of the few countries where abortion, divorce, and gay marriage are illegal, which is why I worry about Prots bringing inadvertently bringing the globohomo and child sacrifice of America to it.
