The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I have to give a bible study on how to read the bible soon, I thought maybe I could talk about how the bible should be read subjectively, in that it should make you personally ask what this means to me as an individual and not in light of my culture, age or position in society

what would be some good group discussion questions, maybe some verses to read ect that would be interesting to discuss? should I choose something different to discuss?

The only way to read the Bible is from the example of Christ himself: By seeing things Christologically. Christ throughout the scriptures. Anyone who departs from this is an arrogant faggot setting himself above the Son of God (no ifs, ands, or buts about it).

You don't have to use the word "faggot" in Bible study, of course. Maybe you can be more creative. But this is 8chan atm.

I want to emphasise on people asking themselves what this means to me as an individual, edifying you because it is the word of god, it can still be read christoloigcally but can have no personal effect on a person because they have an identity that doesn't recognise the authority of the bible

That was an entertaining thread.

You can't read the Bible as an individual because you didn't make up English. There is no such thing as an individual, this is antichristian idiocy.

How old are you and who will the audience be? What will their expectations be?

I always like the phrase 'new in the old concealed, old in the new revealed' regarding the relationship between the two testaments (or more specifically Jesus Christ's place in them)

>it can still be read christoloigcally but can have no personal effect on a person because they have an identity that doesn't recognise the authority of the bible

We don't do identity mongering in the church, all are one in Jesus Christ. If you have an "identity" that doesn't recognize the authority of the Bible then you are not Christian, and as a result, should not teach, or have anything to do at all, with the scriptures, unless you're thinking of starting your own cult, which I would urge against for the sake of your soul and others.

In short, you should avoid all scripture until you have the proper attitude, but you are teaching rebellion if you teach individual readings of the Bible, and that is a very serious sin.
