Now before I get into the topic of this thread I want to make some clarifications.
1. I believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to God and that it is the holy spirit that lead me to this conclusion and im not trying to making a shallow skeptic observation to debunk churches
2. I will recall events as they happened as best I can remember.
A while back I had an acquaintance who went to a certain church (apparently its doctrine fell along the lines of Pentecostal but from my own investigation it seemed more along the lines of the "feelgood" Joel osteen tipe drivel)
It was a pretty large church, in modern days church climate this wasent out of the ordinary although it is heretical.
While me and 2 friends of mine were talking one of them that went to the church said church and after a few consecutive weeks of going there he mentioned that people from the church had approached him offering "true salvation" which was "taught" in classes after hours, he had decided to go elsewhere.
This seemed odd to me but I just shrugged it off since he couldve misinterpreted what they meant.
Later the first friend I mentioned started becoming closer since I sometimes got a ride from him and we would strike casual conversation, we also went to the same college class but we didint really interact until later.
He started coming late for classes maybe about 30 minutes at first and then later it became an hour and then 2 hours. We had a small class and the college I went to was very strict on attendance. He just kept making the excuse that overslept. Later I would hear that it was because he was attending 5am meetings at this church As well as 6pm everyday 247. I felt as if it wasent really any of my business but my interest was peaked so in the following months I did investigation on the place finding out the following.
Most of the people that went there were middle upper class and upwards
The main pastor made about 100k $ profit a week
younger people who join there "classes" often entered into a 2 year "stay on" thing that roughly costs around a college fee, some sources say that they were promised a theological degree but it cant be verified
Anyone that attended these "classes" were immediately called if they were late for church and asked a reason.
These seem like warning lights to me but what do you think?
