Most modern translations are informed by pseudo-Christian scholarship, who are really agnostic academics (see Lutheran vulva thread). While even the conservative ones are on the other bad end, and made by Billy Bobs who think they know Greek, but can't speak a word of without sounding like the same old Billy Bob, worship Jews, and tell their congregations to die in Zionist wars, and may as well not even be Christian.
Stick with KJV. It's not only a standard in the religious world, but even what the outside world sees as the English bible and praised for it's literary qualities.
