The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

How do you get sexual/blasphemous thoughts out of your head? The more I try not to think about them, I think about them more. I don't know how often other Christians face this, but it's quite complex and difficult for me.

so long as we are in sinful flesh we can't stop them from popping in, though I found that staying up too late at night brings these thoughts in hard. Just focus on Christ and don't give into temptation.

1 Thess 5:5

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

Occupy yourself with things that require attention. Reading, exercise, praying etc

Think less about what you're running from, and more about what you're running toward (God, in this case). Just picture Jesus in your mind, say some prayers, let Him be your sole focus in that moment.

I've noticed that since I started praying the Rosary while meditating on the mysteries sinful thoughts don't come by (as much?) or I have the strength to stop my sinful fantasy.

I've been told that the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist helps. I don't know, I haven't partaken in over 30 years. Looking forward to it next Saturday :)
