They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

That's a lot to unpack, why would God want to reinforce people's delusions into not believing him and not being saved? It says in the same verse that this is in accordance with Satan. So why would God want to make people who have these view continue to do what Satan wants?

They profess themselves to be wise, but they became fools.

The rebel believes that they can get away with thefts, adulteries, murders, sorceries and drug deals, that their streetsmarts and personal philosophies are greater than the wisdom of the bible, and they've got it "all figured out".

The faithless believe that abortion, bestiality and sodomy are of no moral consequence, that tolerance is a virtue, and that money, power, pleasure, status and virtue in the eyes of others are the highest goals in life.

The atheist-anthropologist(both armchair and real) believes in a progressive revelation of worldly thoughts(post hoc ergo propter hoc) throughout time; That the mother goddess was first, evolution brought about homo sapiens(instead of a debasement of homo sapiens's genes before the flood), Jesus was originally Dumuzid(who later became Baal), the flood was just local myths that Moses copied, and the Bible is just man's wisdom without the revelation of God.

The main thing that they all have in common is the belief that the wisdom of the senses(which delights in acts of wickedness), through a hegelian dialectic, will bring about a greater wisdom than the wisdom of the bible; which in itself is Satan's oldest lie.
