Is there a specific order in which the Church Fathers should be read for people who are new to them? I've been trying to read through them all in chronological order, but that seems a bit impractical.

Hyjacking this thread to ask for that book list image where there’s 7 books that summed up the churches doctrine for each of the seven councils. It’s for my catechism class

Not an expert on this, but I would recommend Damascenes "Exposition of the Orthodox faith" right away.

Its sort of a beginners manual.

Treatise on Icons also. Damascene in general is a good read for the newcomers.

Then come St. Basil and Cappadocian fathers in general, usually. Then the rest.
