The interpretation i was taught is that modern jews are the Kenites from the old testament. The descendants of Cain who slowly subverted the Israelites and overtook the culture. They are the false jews talked about in a number of places in the bible.

I was also taught that despite their heritage kenites can be saved. That is probably not a common sentiment around here.

On the real, most Jews aren’t even all that smart. I think that they’re CLEVER, sure, but actual intelligence is probably not the same as tricking people to THINK you’re smarter than you actually are.

Further, Ephesians states "when he ascended on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts to men". Who were the captives in this triumph into heaven?
