I went to Lebanon for a holiday a few years ago. There was a gay pride march in Beruit and guess who were there marching for gay pride?

Not the muslims, not the jews, not the druze but the Maronites. Two men wearing thongs were literally wearing rosaries as they danced promiscuously. Even worse I swore I saw a few priests

I thought Middle Eastern Christians are supposed to be based. What happened?

This is something I noticed amongst many of them. I have a Syriac friend who says the Bible is only a myth and she's just a Christian cos muh heritage.

It's a prevalent theme in post V2 Catholicism, spreading her Americanism globally, and I don't want to get banned but this just doesn't happen in Orthodoxy.

Liberalism has been around since the year dot, fam, because people have always wanted out of the commitment they were born into. They never chose it, so it's not real to them. So, they are easily mislead and easily corrupted by the devil to bring shame upon the people of God. The biggest mistake the Church made was in failing to adhere to Paul's wisdom on Church discipline.

Stop blaming your boogie-mans and start looking at yourselves.

Maronites sided with NATO during the wars of the 80's.

A documentary I saw from shortly before the current Syrian Civil War showed a portrait of Assad inside of a church for what it's worth.

But JEWTO promotes liberalism, thus the possible reason for greater degeneracy compared to their non-JEWTO aligned counterparts.

Just a logical and rational observation in my opinion.

As far as Im aware it's just a middle eastern thing to cling to religion without actually following it. My friend is from Egypt and he said as soon as ramadan is over most muslims will get straight into a six pack.

Im starting to think that no matter how religious a society is generally a certain percentage (around 5-10%) will be genuinly religious and the rest will just go along with whatever is popular

There's your answer, mate. Go outside of Beirut, and the degeneracy and liberalism disappears (for the most part). The areas outside of Beirut are more conservative (depending which one you look at, with some being more conservative than others).

Also. homosexuality is illegal here, so I don't know where this happened.

She's most likely Maronite by name. I know plenty of "Maronite" girls who are Maronite only because of heritage. They don't follow Scripture, they don't follow the paths of the Saints, and they're extremely liberal. This mostly happens if they were born outside of Lebanon. If they were born here, and were raised with the Lebanese way of life, you most likely wouldn't see that filth happening.

Honestly though, this doesn’t surprise me. Just remember that for every sodomite who wears a Rosary out of habit, there’s 10 or even 1000 that actually devoutly keep the faith of their ancestors and don’t give in to v2 bullcrap https://youtu.be/BUbKFiZ-ZyU

Sister Marie Keyrouz is a talent. Her work is really good.

Guys I would just like to tell you that the sodomites that wear rosaries and dance in their sodomite parades really do not represent the bulk of the Maronite community. They are a veeeeery small minority. These are city dwellers, which have fallen into the trap that is liberalism. To truly see the Maronite community, all you have to do is leave Beirut, and go to any district besides it. Go to the churches on Sunday, and you will see them filled (more or less, of course) with devout worshipers. Please do not get this bad image of us.

There are Nestorians and Chaldean Catholics, Syrian Orthodox, Melkites. There are Greek Orthodox in places like Maaloula.

The Church of the East maintains that they aren't Nestorian as they're accused but that their belief has been misunderstood. This is similar to how the Oriental Orthodox rationalize the circumstances surrounding their schisms.

Right, but those are just a handful of cases. Sexual abuse of children is certainly most regrettable, whoever the perpetrator, but there's a huge difference if it's almost symptomatic like in Catholicism, or a rare exception like in Orthodoxy.

How rich, why not read facts before you go on accusing a whole group because a small minority is actually abusing.

The orthodox church has a lot of problems of their own, but I guess new converts don't like those facts.

As an actual eastern euro, i feel obliged to intervene.

Our press is just as jackal-like, and loves shitting on the Church(the EO is the main target here) for pretty much anything, so any juicy tale of church corruption and sex scandals will be a boufet for them.

As an almost 25yo, here are the ecclesiastical sex scandals i can remember in my lifetime:

>2 monks probably did it in the butt(they said he was massaging his bones, but whatever);

>a couple of nuns got pregnant;

>ONE pedo priest case;

As for the last one, the media had a field day, dragged that fiasco for 2/3rds of a year, and beat it to death, due to how rare it was, while the Church immediately dropped that priest like a hot potato.

Now, i'm sure those aren't the only ones that have happened, and we also have more financially corrupt clergy than you guys, but sex-wise, we have way less of a problem than you, and retarded CIDF "our boy-rape rates are at normal levels, citizen" apologetics are insane.

The Roman Church def. has a problem with pedo priests, and they need to accept it.

It happened even before the Schism, and God sent you/us St. Peter Damian that fought against this plague.

Medieval rule books also have massively restrictive rules on priest-boy interactions precisely to avoid this shit.

So man up, and accept your issues.

Proof?

It's quite understandable that western liberal democracies should have become the biggest advocates for it.

The Soviet film director Sergei Parajanov was convicted of homosexuality.

The track record for it in communist states is enough to give gay advocates plenty fuel for accusations of persecution against them up to this day.

Just conservatards like you equate communism with corporatist social liberalism in your countries and act like communist states are supposed to have been a paradise for gays.

Even laws against it former self proclaimed socialist republics is rooted in legislation of the that era.

There aren't abuses in Syria, if that's what you're referring to. In the KRG, yeah they've gotten hostile lately and backtracked on their promises more than once, but they have huge representation in the DNFS. The co-president of the Syrian Democratic Council is a Syriac and so is the spokesperson of the SDF. Just a few days ago the Syriac Military Council sent reinforcements to Hajin with the Kurds.

I meant more the stuff you hear from regular folks, not media, and I remember these orphanages being something exclusively Romanian (or even Moldavian).

>So man up, and accept your issues.

I accept the issues, but the guy generalizing that all catholics are gay pedos was just plain wrong and did as if the orthodox church doesn't have any problems whatsoever (which made him sound like a recent convert orthoLARPer tbh).

Our main problem is the corruption and misconduct leading to these abuses, but in all honesty there aren't many cases I know of where I live either (I can name one guy, and maybe heard about two others).

The one I remember was also hot news for the rest of the year.

As far as I know it's mainly an American thing, though the cover-ups happened everywhere.
