It would be one thing if they actually were celibate. But, as it is, they rape children instead of being celibate. The Bible says a bishop must have a wife for a reason. Imagine if only married men were allowed to be Catholic priests. How many gay pedophiles are gonna get in a sham marriage just to become a priest? The entire sex abuse epidemic in the church could be solved over night. Celibacy is good for those called to it. Most men, and that includes most men who would be good clergy, do not have that calling.

Why were Christians banned from usury and why can't priests marry if neither of these things were mentioned in the Bible? Both gravely hurt whites and helped empower Jews.

Usury is a sin, it is a mathematical impossibility. You can't pay back what isn't owed. Celibacy is mentioned in Paul's writing extensively, the idea is Latin priests are celibate because it allows for them to be wholly as far as physically devoted to God.

Orthodoxy already has celibate clergy, it's just more unusual outside of monasteries. The call to celibacy and the call to the priesthood are two different callings and shouldn't be forced into one
