Paul states in Romans that once the covenant was fulfilled, the barrier between humanity and Christ was torn down, and anybody can come to Him no matter their background, including those who are circumcised and uncircumcised.

So why does Christianity still practice this? It's clearly not necessary anymore, so why does the church still continue this practice?

New Testament belief/Christianity does not condone circumcision. Have you ever read the Bible?

I have some theories as to why circumcision was required for the Jews before the arrival of Messiah, but its just speculative.

This website details how circumcision actually increases abstract thinking ability. This is both a blessing and a curse, because abstract thinkers tend to be less empathetic to fellow man. We as Christians understand that the heart of man is wicked, an so this abstract thinking is abused and not elevating as it could be. Perhaps God wanted to humble mankind by this demonstration of our inability to be responsible with this partial release from the carnal?
