The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Hey, guys. I'm not trying to troll again, but I have questions and I don't have a car to go to church to ask a priest and my parents don't go to church (though after mass wouldn't even be the appropriate time to ask questions like this) so I'm asking you. I heard on here that God doesn't control everything. SO why was I taught to thank God for my meals/everything? Is it just because he created it? I guess I should thank him for that, but other things have given me the impression that God does or commands everything that happens. So what are your thoughts? Thanks in reply. I am seriously not trying to troll you. I'm also not trying to offend you with this picture, it is one of the few safe for work pictures I have. Thank you.

Get more, then

As to your question, that's a matter of debate, but all Christians at least believe that God foreknew the entirety of history, including what you'll have for dinner tonight, and chose to make the world like that. Perhaps He didn't actively give you a plate of spaghetti, but He still created a world in which you could get it for yourself.

Look up Providence, foreknowledge, and predestination to hear more about different Christian views on this subject.
