>John answered and said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow along with us.” But Jesus said to him, “Do not hinder him; for he who is not against you is for you.”
Isn't this Jesus directly rebuking denominational wars? This man was casting out demons in Jesus name, yet wasn't a follower. Rather than telling him to stop Jesus allows him to continue because although he may not be an "official" follower of Jesus, he was still indirectly supporting him by acting in his name. This seems to be a rebuttal of the idea that there is any one true church, as Jesus affirms that all who act in his name are with him in spirit.
