What is being meant by saying Jesus was incarnate of the Holy Ghost? Is there a deep meaning behind this? Why did the Holy Spirit cause Jesus to be incarnate and not the Father? Does it mean that Jesus was made manifest through the Holy Spirit and now that Jesus has ascended then the Holy Spirit is now made manifest through him?

The Holy Spirit proceeded from the Father. With the Holy Spirit put Jesus into Mary who was the Incarnate of the Holy Spirit.

Catholics yes. Orthodox no… though it is probably yes in a weird Orthodox explanation of things.

The Holy Spirit was operative in the incarnation of the Word, they worked together. St Athanasius says: “When the Word came upon the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Spirit entered her together with the Word; in the Spirit the Word formed a body for himself and adapted it to himself, desiring to unite all creation through himself and lead it to the Father” (Ad Serap. 1, 31).
