The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I'm not sure if this couldn't be answered in a few posts in a different thread, but I'd thought it would be an interesting topic for it's own.

Over the last few years, we've seen people becoming more and more unhinged over little things, generally on a global scale. It's been better in some places than others, but there is much chaos where there was not in the past. I'm personally curious if the current "mad passions" we see in people; the blasphemous behavior just for it's own sake (not even for secular political purposes), the mindless violence, and on, is due to possession. And if there's any research to back that up, or disprove it.

I remember at the end of the 90s, there were studies showing there had already been an 4-8x increase in possessions and demonic activity over a 30 year period spanning into the end of the decade. While I don't know the numbers now, I do know that the number of Christian faithful in general has declined in many areas. And also even more alarming, people willing to make pacts with evil powers for material gain, open veneration of Hellish forces in public (like that statue of Baphomet a few days ago). I suspect that figure on demonic activity has increased by a lot if a statue like that is allowed in the Deep South of all places, even if it was only for a short time, and I think that those powers could be influencing the overall situation I just described in the previous paragraph. I'd be happy - very much so - to be proved wrong with whatever information anyone has on hand, however.

That's because of the week of nightmares, dude

White Wolf was never good.

Seriously, doesn't anyone have any information on this at all here? I was sort of hoping this place would have done at least a little study on this matter. It's not like demonic possession doesn't happen, and it seems reasonable suspect that in an increasingly pagan world you'd have more of it happening, and influencing current events. I'm just looking for statistics or authoritative interviews of one kind or another that aren't pulled out of the depths of /x/.

I'm about to read this book written by a psychologist who analyzes possessions throughout history (including modernity) https://archive.org/details/possessiondemoni031669mbp

It might interest you as well

Someone once posted the cover of the book "how about demons: possessions and exorcism in the modern world" which I hope to read one day. (I also hope it doesn't try to relativize the shamanic practices in primitive cultures)

This is an important thread. Possessions are increasing but I rarely see catholics or christians talking about it.

By "psychologist… who analyzes possession" it should be understood he does not see them as psychological disorder but as demonical possessions in fact.

Every time it's brought up here, eventually someone starts posting nonsense like "tobacco attracts demons".
