When you read the Old Testament there's a lot of verses about killings and wars and God commanding the Israelites to kill.

This made me confused. Doesn't God love everyone? The people that got killed obviously didn't believe in God and therefore didn't repent and made sacrifices for their sins so only place there souls would go to would be hell. Jesus wasn't born back then so there was no one innocent to carry all the sins of the world either. Why would God want His children to plummet down to hell?
