I actually had a hand in creating that sub. It happened when we had that raid on r/Christianity. I was hoping to use it as a sub to post criticisms of the going ons on r/Christianity to try and raise awareness towards the heretical, bad and anti-Christian behavior of the moderation team and users.
I chose the top guy there because I wanted someone who had an older reddit account to be the top mod so they wouldn't suspect it was a raid. I helped promote it and help it gain members and then posted cross links to r/Christainity.
It went okay for a while but - I didn't realize - the top mod really wanted his own sub and he decided to take it in his own direction of a traditionalist Catholic sub. I didn't really understand wanting to have your own space on reddit or wanting to actually participate there - but to each his own.
It was pretty bad because one of the reasons he decided to go in this direction was the threat of being banned from r/Christianity if we continued to cross post bad behavior from there.
Still it seems in the end just pointing out their bad behavior isn't enough to really break down r/Christianity. I wish there was a way to take it down completely, a community with 150 000 subscribers that actively teaches heresy and attacks Christians is simply unacceptable.
I'm not happy with how r/DeusVult turned out and it seems like I chose the wrong person. I definitely wanted it to be more open to non-Christians and non-Catholics and I wanted its focus to be more about critiquing r/Christianity.
I could start something like that on my own, but I'm really busy right now and will likely be for the foreseeable future.
I have information on some of the r/Christianity mods, the atheist one has strong ties with SRS and I've piled up pretty good evidence of that. I've also managed to dox him. I'm trying to figure out how to use the information, but that's probably going to have to wait a few months before I have the time to do something with it.
