Tolkien disliked allegory but he did have Christian themes in his works

The way I see it Tolkien mainly writes about beauty/nature and corrupt people desecrating it through industry/crafting.

Some interesting theological points in his book of letters.

Being reminded of this, I was a bit sad thinking this series was over, but found this little nugget.

I doubt Christopher would be around for the Silmarillion to be made into anything, but looks like there are a some great things in the horizon.
