The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Hey /christian/. Bit of an unusual question. So I'm getting married in November. My girl's cousin is planning the bachelorette party and recently asked my thoughts on an idea she had for it. For the most part she's not planning anything crazy. But she asked, for the "finale", if I could be waiting at another cousin's house, shirtless, and come out and do a silly (not suggestive) dance or something along those lines. She says it's not meant to be dirty or sexual or anything like that, just funny. I said I didn't like the shirtless idea at all, she said it's no different than if I were at the beach. I replied that it's contextual, and I would not be okay with my fiancee (or any woman) coming out in a bathing suit at my bachelor party. She said that it's different for women, and it would just be funny.

My gut still says is disrespectful to come out in front of other men's wives like that, in that particular context. Even if it's just making fun, it's still seems like dancing around the idea of strippers, which I and my fiancee both are not okay with.

What does /christian/ think? Should I go with my gut here? Or am I just being prudish?

Put your foot down and show your woman you won't tolerate that stuff.

This.

Establish your authority OP. Otherwise you will be cucked in your future relationship.

>She says … I said … she said … I replied … She said …

If you're uncomfortable with the whole thing, OP, that should be the end of the matter.

In theory, she should respect your boundaries.

Personally I can see what she and her friends are getting at, and she's right: women are different to men and this would be more a silliness, a mocking of worldly godless traditions, for them than a celebration of lust. I certainly would not reverse the genders and think this was okay. No, no, no, no, not at all.

Nevertheless, I'm not living your life, and you have to live your life and be comfortable with all that happens within it.

So, again, if you're uncomfortable with the whole thing, OP, that should be the end of the matter and she should respect your boundaries.

Good luck with that.
