If we actually met Jesus he would probably something sneaky to get us to doubt that he is God, but also wouldn't deny it.

Not related maybe, but I remember a story about one businessman or some other kind of rich man to whom angel told that Jesus would visit him. Excited he was preparing large feast and tidying his home when bell rung. When the guy opened it, there was some hobo begging for money and food. Man refused and said that he didn't have time for it. After a while another hobo came and then another. He refused them all.

Time has passed, night fell, but Jesus didnt came. He was disappointed. After a while, when he returned to his room he saw angel there. He complained about why God didnt came. Angel answered that he met God three times that day and refused every single time.
