The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I am curious about Mormons lately.

Are Mormon's Christian?

Why would they be?

/christian/ is not /christ/ or reddit. This is a trad/conservative board.

What are you confused about?

Say a person like this.

He may not be Jesus incarnate.

However, is he not still the Holy Spirit?

They're about as Christian as Muslims are.

theres more in common between mormonism and islam theologically than with mormonism and christianity

By this definition, Gnostics are also Christian.

Hey, even Shinotists, too, are Christian, since they kindly include Jesu-sama in their pantheon.

There are Hindus who worship Jesus, and Muslims are at least monotheists unlike the henotheist Mormons.

So not it's definitely not a Christian denomination, and even pagan monotheists like the Neo-Platonist worship God more than the Mormons.

Negative ghost rider

Peep this hymn: If you could hie to kolob:

1. If you could hie to Kolob

In the twinkling of an eye,

And then continue onward

With that same speed to fly,

Do you think that you could ever,

Through all eternity,

Find out the generation

Where Gods began to be?

2. Or see the grand beginning,

Where space did not extend?

Or view the last creation,

Where Gods and matter end?

Methinks the Spirit whispers,

“No man has found ‘pure space,’

Nor seen the outside curtains,

Where nothing has a place.”

3. The works of God continue,

And worlds and lives abound;

Improvement and progression

Have one eternal round.

There is no end to matter;

There is no end to space;

There is no end to spirit;

There is no end to race.

4. There is no end to virtue;

There is no end to might;

There is no end to wisdom;

There is no end to light.

There is no end to union;

There is no end to youth;

There is no end to priesthood;

There is no end to truth.

5. There is no end to glory;

There is no end to love;

There is no end to being;

There is no death above.

There is no end to glory;

There is no end to love;

There is no end to being;

There is no death above.

Text: William W. Phelps, 1792–1872

Music: English melody, arr. Ralph Vaughan Williams, 1872–1958, from the English Hymnal. Used by permission of the Oxford University Press. Making copies without written permission of the copyright owner is prohibited.

You think that's at all Christian?

>I am curious about Mormons lately.

>Are Mormon's Christian?

No. Let's get over some points:

< Christianity is monotheistic (one God), Mormonism is henotheistic (multitude of gods, but they only worship one of them)

< Christianity teaches that Jesus is God, Mormonism teaches that Jesus is not God

< Christianity teaches that all humans are children of God, but we are created. Mormonism teaches that all humans are born to the mormon god and his wives

< Christianity teaches that humans are made of a soul and a body and that the soul does not exist before the body. Mormonism teaches that humans are first born as spirits on a far away planet and then travel to Earth where they are born in a physical body

< Mormonism teaches that Satan and Jesus are brothers, and if fact brothers of all humans (and demons). Christianity teaches that Satan was created and is a fallen angel

< Christianity teaches that angels are also created, but don't have a body. Demons are fallen angels. Mormonism teaches that demons are human souls who sided with Satan (also a human soul according to mormonism) and as punishment will never be granted a physical body on Earth.

Mormons will tell you that they have all the things Christians have, but that's meaningless because even though they use the same names, what they mean by these names will be completely different. And I haven't even gotten into the really absurd stuff like magic underwear.

Finally, Joseph Smith is a proven fraud. The supposed "book of abraham" removes any doubt about this:
