The last message of Christ to the seventh church in Laodicea: “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. Because you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.” (Revelation 3:15-17)
The church in Laodicea was materially rich and spiritually poor. Jesus preferred to have them extremely rich in the material and spiritual (hot) or poor in the material and spiritual (cold). But in their lukewarm state they did not think they needed Him.
They did NOT know the love Jesus had towards them.
Yet, on the outside knocking to get in, what did Jesus say He would do for the one who hears and opens the door?
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20)
To dine with that person, and that person dine with Him? What does Jesus reveal as is truly important?
Let us ALWAYS share in that blessed spiritual meal with Jesus Christ.
Let us therefore always stand in and abide upon these heights of God’s love towards us for our own sakes, for each other, and for Christ's sake above all- knowing that it is God and His love towards us is the source of all that we are and do.
Keep this in mind: “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.” (1st John 4:10)
