The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Why do so many of these false teachers promote the end of the world so heavily? Reinforcement of their ideas through fear, or just a general disdain for all they deem unholy?

Attention whores. Like Judgement Day is totally coming but if you are doing the right stuff you shouldn't have to worry.

I think there are a lot of people in the west who see how far they have fallen and hope that the end will come. Obviously they need to remember that we don't know the hour but hoping for Christ's return is not a bad thing in and of itself.

>hoping for Christ's return is not a bad thing in and of itself

<hope

I rarely see hope when they depict the rapture's coming. I see a sense of foreboding, not of comfort. It's almost like they fetishize the torture and trials those left on earth will have to suffer through. I see ravening dogs, eager to exploit people's fears to further their own financial agendas, and strengthen their mega-churches.

<hoping for Christ's return is not a bad thing in and of itself.

Amos 5:18-20

>Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

>As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

>Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

Also some of those seem very vague

>He shall judge the peoples with uprightness.

>Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth greatly rejoice.

>Let the sea be shaken in all its fullness

>Then the fields and everything in them shall rejoice;

>Then all the trees of the forest shall rejoice

>Before the face of the Lord; for he is coming

Doesn't sound too bad tbh

This is what happens when you try to interpret the Bible yourself and you have no one to tell you that you’re wrong. Protestantism easily leads to doomsday cults.
