I think there is more to be gained, and more opportunity to grow closer to God in believing in an objective reality that we can count. If God can change the past, which he certainly can, it is irrelevant to you because, the moment he does so, you cease to exist and the new you has different memories- in which case, the new you can't even remember praying for the thing God granted.
Because the Logos was in the beginning, I believe the Christ has ordered events that created His own birth. Yet, I think God only went back to the beginning once and arranged everything, and it has already happened. I don't think he keeps dipping in the past- such an idea would contradict the promise of eternal life in the way I understand it because the "me" I am could be snuffed out at any time by a change to the past- yet Jesus promised me eternal life. So, under time-loop theory, even if you're right, the past has already been adjusted to conform to any prayer you will ever make that God would be willing to engage with, which is the same as saying God isn't changing the past based on your prayers but rather, ordered the past based on foreknowledge of us all.
