Don't argue with them if you're not knowledgeable enough, they'll mop the floor with you because it's not their first rodeo and know certain things that you can't rebuke unless you are well read in the Bible and their blasphemous literature. Just be courteous, and insist that you are a Christian and have surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, the one and only God, forever and ever.

I'm in an IFB church and I quoted Matthew 16:18 to a "well-read" Mormon and he couldn't respond. All he did was mumble muh reformation and talk about how JS had a revelation. He got angry when I asked who it was according to and he had to say Joseph Smith.

Ephesians 2:20 and 1 Corinthians 3:11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Here are the issues you will wont to tackle - and this will depend a bit on your parents view of religion and Christianity.

If your parents are Christians:

-Focus on the Trinity and the verses that show Christ's divinity

-Ask them what they mean by the phrase become "more like heavenly father" - essentially drawing out the polytheism

-If they are Cathodox questions on tradition and transmission

If they arent christian or value history then bring up the issues in
