The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Should a Christian ever now before a carved image? What if the North Koreans said they're only venerating what these statues represent?

Someone must be false flagging /leftpol/, i don't like /leftypol/ but to make such an obvious communist thread after the idea was discussed in the meta thread is interesting.

On today's episode of "/pol/ pretends to be /leftypol/"

Honoring Communism isn't consistent with Christianity. Building statues in respect to good things people have actually done, and even paying some kind of honors to them, so long as it doesn't contradict Christian commandments or cosmology, is acceptable.

>venerating what these statues represent

>venerating atheistic communism

Nope

There are statues of great men in every country, and all of them are venerated, even, regrettably, the Kim dynasty. The Norks are atheists, so we must assume that the statues are being venerated, not worshiped, and one could use that excuse I suppose if one were an indoctrinated atheist North Korean serf.

My objection, more to the point, is that these are not great men, they are brutal sadists, people who by their actions in life are removed to the furthest extremity from the ideal of the Christian Saint.

So what is this thread about exactly?

No Christian would venerate materialism, covetousness, and tyranny.

8eb484 No.675268

as long as it's not worship it's fine, nothing wrong with venerating.

777ef9 No.675273

>>675268

depends what ur venerating tbh

2aafec No.675380

The only true image of God is Jesus, whose images we show the veneration they're due (since the honor given to the image transfers to the prototype). The saints reflect the light of Christ and so we show their images the honor they're due.

So, OP, are those two dudes saints?
